 | If the Second Amendment read: "A well stocked library, being necessary to the education of a well informed people, the right of the people to keep and read books shall not be infringed."
Would there be any fools that would argue that only the state could keep and read books ? |
Here is the treaty which Mr. Obama has said he will enter into to stop the illicit arms trade into Mexico. By using international treaties the Congress and the Constitution of the U.S. can be bypassed. Hand loaders pay especially close attention to the ammunition sections. Read it for yourself and decide if it wll step on your constitutional rights. The House of Representatives is bypassed, but the Senate is not. Contact your Senators and tell them how you feel about the Constitution and your rights being disrespected. Inter-American Convention Against The Illicit Manufacturing Of And Trafficing In Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives And other Related Materials
In today's world, the following, is an amazing document. If you haven't read it, you should. It is a large document, but a must read for all those who support our Second Amendment right, and a slap on the wrist for those who wish to take our guns.
Since the above memorandom was issued four years ago, the Supreme Court of the United States has ruled on the same issue. On June 28, 2008, the SCOTUS handed down the following opinion in a 5-4 decision, that the right to keep and bear arms is, in fact, an individual, civil liberty. Evidently four of the justices don't believe Americans have an individual right to self-defense. District of Columbia vs. Heller
Apparently this has become the attitude of both major parties. BEWARE!
NOTE: Heinrich Himmler speaks of Germans as "ordinary citizens" and Bill Clinton speaks of Americans as "ordinary Americans." I suspect that their respect level for their fellow citizens and the Constitution of the United States of America, was/is about on a par.

"When the resolution of enslaving America was formed in Great
Britain, the British Parliament was advised by an artful man,
- who was governor of Pennsylvania (John Penn), to disarm the people; that
it was the best and most effectual way to enslave them; but that
they should not do it openly, but weaken them, and let them sink
gradually, by totally disusing and neglecting the militia."
-- George Mason (speech in the Virginia Ratifying Convention,
14 June 1778)

NO MORE GUN LAWS Stop persecuting law-abiding citizens for the criminal acts of a few. There are over 20,000 gun laws on the books right now, so let's start enforcing them, before we add any more. We need to hold the parents responsible when, through their neglegence, their children take and use their guns, and then subject those who use the guns to adult justice.
Existing laws aren't being enforced, and people aren't being held responsible, because anti-gun zealots can't, or won't, admit that it's actually people who ARE responsible. If they were to admit that people are responsible, their arguments against the gun itself evaporate, and if guns aren't responsible, there's no reason to ban them. |
